It was created by a fellow smoker, grower, researcher, teacher, artist and web developer. The goal of Smokereports.com is to serve as a resource for anyone who cares to enjoy one of the finest things nature has given us. Smokereports.com started as an idea from an individual. It was created to help fill the void generated by years of stoner stories and rumors. It was also created to serve as the ultimate online resource for cannabis strains. Too many sites out there offer long lists of strains with little or no relationships to the other strains. While these are great resources, it becomes easy to get lost in the sea of breeders and seed peddlers who may, or may not, be truthful in their advertising. Smokereports.com was created to offer a place for enjoyers of cannabis to come together and create a resource for everyone! Whether it be the casual smoker or the commercial grower, you should be able to find what you need here...and if you don't? Tell us! Find a genetics listing for a strain that doesn't seem right? Let us know! Find a listing for a breeder that is not correct? Get it corrected! We're always willing to change our strain database. We rely on our users to keep this site fun, informational, accurate and fair. Smokereports.com was not created by someone who works for a seed company or by someone who has their own strains to peddle. This site was created for cannabis and created for us all.
Smokereports.com is also meant to serve an important role in the cannabis community. While cannabis faces prohibitionary laws throughout the world, it is difficult to track or trace the origins of genetics in the many strains that now grace our planet. We are talking about the history and "family trees" that have come to create the strains that we know and love today. The discovery of new landraces and the intentional breeding (or unintentional breeding) of cannabis causes the list of strains to grow every year. With this growth, comes the increased challenge of keeping track of all of those genetics.
Our intial database of over 2,400 strains was also compiled by the creator of this site. The genetic cross-referencing and research was brought together after countless hours and sleepless nights of digging through books, websites and other informational resources to provide you with the best list of cannabis strains ever created. But it's only a start! You have the power to make sure that the information is correct and current. It is by no means a finished product and probably never will be.
